More than 6 years ago I graduated from High School already accepted into a college that i was very excited to go to. My goal was to become a High School Science teacher so I could also coach sports. Through the past 6 years I've changed degree focus, changed schools, and moved a few times; but one thing stayed the same... I loved working on cars. 3 years ago learned about the Installers Institute in Daytona Beach, I was insanely interested in attending but didn't have the means to do it myself. I tried convincing my parents to help but they saw what i was interested in as just a hobby. Since then I've started my own business out of my garage, and have done multiple installs of varying difficulties in multiple cities. After a less than mutual parting from my less than good job in South Florida I finally convinced my family that this school was the right choice for me, that going here was going to help me get to where I needed to be to follow my dreams. Its now my last day at the Installers Installer Institute and I'm graduating top of my class for 10 out of 10 weeks in a row, with certifications in Home Audio, Mobile Security, Basic and Advanced MESA, and to end it all I passed the MECP Basic test today to be certified in one more thing.

I just want you all at Installers Institute in Holly Hill Florida to know……We were reluctant to spend the money to send Zach 24 hours away from home when he was barley 18 and we had reservations if there would be a career for him in this industry, but knowing that installing has been his passion since he was 16 we decided to bite the bullet, spend the money and send him. WOW we are so glad we did.. it turned out to be money WELL spent.

I've been wanting to write you guys and thank you all for a long time now, but I haven't had the time ever since i came back to the shop. I was so excited to come home and apply what I learned to our shop, and make it into a top quality shop car but ever since I came back I've been doing one custom job after another ( I haven't even touched my 77' Lincoln I was telling you guys about when I was down there). Its been a lot of fun and its something I really love doing. I also wanted to thank Jason for taking my calls even after I graduated to answer questions I have about jobs that I'm working on. I really appreciate that.I have the confidence now after attending ii to go out to a customers car and not be afraid of anything they might want done. I go to their car with a mentality that If they want it done then I'm going to to it with confidence and pride. Its a really good feeling. 

I’ve been working at Best Buy since august of 2009, only 5 months after graduating from Installer Institute.  I am now an MECP Advanced installer as well as MESA Certified installer, and studying for the MECP Master exam.  The instruction I received at Installer Institute is the reason I am at where I am in life.  I love my job and the pay is great. I recommend this school for anyone interested in car audio and fabrication.  

I've always been a huge SPL fan and the motto usually is "the uglier it is, the louder it is."  I primarily went to II to get more hands on training on alarm installation and welding but I also learned first hand how to design and construct a classy install.  Learning from professional instructors who have been in the industry for decades is a real asset for anyone who wants to further their knowledge in the industry or anything audio related.  I took home skills and techniques that I wouldn't have received anywhere else. Going to II not only increased my abilities as an installer but I had a blast doing it.  I didn't even want to go home.  It's like a vacation for car audio enthusiasts.

The return on our investment with Installer Institute began paying off within the first month that Michael returned home. Michael successfully gained employment by a “Premier” local Car Audio & Electronics Company that has been in business since 1958.

As a parent it is always difficult to see your child graduate high school and move onto their next stage of life—as it was for us as well. From the first conversation that I had with the Installer Institute staff it was made well known that they were there to assist in any way possible to make Michael’s dream a reality—and they did just that.
