Week 9: Painting and Metal Work

Advanced Car Audio Installations Program

Car Audio Installation Courses

Week 9 is an exciting time at the Installer Institute. This is the time during which students get to work with different types of paints and metal, and learn the techniques for fabricating with these popular materials. This class will set you apart from your peers in the install bay by showing them how you can take your installations to the next level. It is designed to give you the skills that will enable you to dye factory panels a new color, or to build a project that will match the factory interior color of any vehicle. In this week, students will learn how to cut, fabricate and weld metal frames and brackets that will provide secure mounting points for equipment. They will learn the basics of MIG welding and practice welding skills while working to construct their class project. This class will also cover an introduction to motorization. Students will also learn how to properly mount the steel by tapping the metals or using factory mounting points.
